FH Aachen, Aachen University of Applied Sciences (FHWS)) was founded in 1971, as a result of the amalgamation of several universities of applied sciences and vocational training centres. It currently has more than 14.000 students studying in ten faculties. In addition to Business programmes, offers engineering education in professions such as mechatronics, construction engineering, mechanical engineering or electrical engineering.

German and international students are educated in more than 20 international or foreign-oriented programmes and can acquire German as well as international degrees (Bachelor/Master) or Doppelabschlüsse (double degrees). Foreign students account for more than 21% of the student body.

With its Aachen and Jülich locations, is one of the biggest universities of applied sciences in Germany.
