Profile

Avans University of Applied Sciences was founded in 2004 following a merger of Hogeschool Brabant and Hogeschool 's-Hertogenbosch. The university now boasts around 28,000 students.

The university is explicitly employment-focused. A key component of all programmes is that students work together with other students to solve various practice-based problems. This is a very dynamic and challenging learning process. Each student carries out two work placements at international companies around the world. Popular with students is Xplora: the university's vast multimedia library, database, meeting place, knowledge centre, social hub and assembly point.

Avans University of Applied Sciences is ranked the best university of applied sciences in the Netherlands for the 6th consecutive time. Avans has been in the top three of the national rankings for 8 years now.
