The university was founded in 1945 as a branch of Babeş-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca. Since 1991, it has been independently managed

UMFST has over 11,000 students, which makes it the largest medical university in Romania. The medical field includes three faculties: the Faculty of Human Medicine, the Faculty of Dentistry and the Faculty of Pharmacy. Due to the international orientation of the university and the multicultural nature of the region, several BSc, MSc and PHd programmes are offered in Romanian, English and Hungarian.

Accommodation


The University has four student dormitories with a capacity of 1176 places. Each room is equipped with high speed internet and cable TV. Rent is about Eur 200 per month.
